Financial Association News on September 29, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation, recently, BYD Company Limited and BYD Auto Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Auto Products and the Implementing Measures of the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Auto Products, and decided to recall the following vehicles starting from September 30, 2024.

1. BYD Company Limited

Recall of some domestically produced Dolphin and Yuan PLUS electric cars produced between February 4, 2023 and December 26, 2023, totaling 87,762 units.

2. BYD Auto Co., Ltd.

Recall of some domestically produced Yuan PLUS electric cars produced between November 2, 2022 and June 19, 2023, totaling 8,952 units.

Due to manufacturing process issues of the electric power steering column assembly (CEPS) controller in some vehicles within the scope of this recall, interference may occur between the cover plate on the equipment fixture and capacitors on the controller circuit board when closing the cover plate, leading to microcracks in the capacitors. During vehicle use, these microcracks in the capacitors may expand causing a short circuit, overheating burning, and even fire, posing safety risks.

BYD Company Limited and BYD Auto Co., Ltd. will commission BYD authorized dealers to install controller insulating pads free of charge for vehicles within the recall scope to eliminate safety hazards.
