According to court documents cited by Reuters on September 29, recently, three online sellers under Walmart's Flipkart have taken legal action against the Competition Commission of India (CCI), questioning their involvement in an antitrust investigation along with Flipkart and Amazon. These three sellers are CIGFIL Retail, Wishery Online, and Xonique Ventures. They have applied to the High Court of Karnataka to reject the investigation report and terminate CCI's related procedures. An antitrust investigation concluded in August of this year found that Flipkart, Amazon, and certain sellers and smart phone brands violated local competition laws. Alleged violations include offering preferential treatment to specific online sellers and manipulating product listings to favor certain suppliers. This investigation stemmed from a complaint by the Confederation of All India Traders (representing physical retailers) and began in 2020. Amazon and Flipkart deny any wrongdoing.
