特朗普:一旦胜选我将起诉谷歌 他们偏心哈里斯!

Trump: Once elected, I will sue Google for their bias towards Harris!

Former President Trump post expressed that if he wins in the election on November 5th, he will seek to sue Google because Google only shows 'bad stories' about him.

On Friday, Eastern Time, the US Republican presidential candidate and former President Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social, stating that if he wins in the election on November 5th, he will seek to sue Google because Google only shows bad news about him and good news about Harris.

Trump lashes out at Google.

Trump wrote on Truth Social:

"It has been established that Google has illegally used a system that only discloses and displays bad news about Donald J. Trump, some of which are intentionally fabricated, while only disclosing good news about Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris."

"This is illegal activity, and I hope the Department of Justice will bring criminal charges against their blatant interference in the election... If they do not, in accordance with the laws of our country, when I win the election and become President of the United States, I will demand the highest level of prosecution against them."

Trump did not provide any evidence for his complaint against Google in the post. However, some foreign media believe that Trump may be responding to a study by the conservative institution Media Research Center (MRC).

Is Google really biased?

Recently, the MRC released a report stating that they found that when searching for 'Donald Trump 2024 presidential campaign' on Google, Google tends to display news reports supporting Harris positively rather than Trump's own campaign website.

In the report, MRC wrote that their researchers searched for the phrase 'Donald Trump 2024 presidential campaign' on September 6th and found that news from left-leaning (supporting the Democratic Party) traditional media such as CNN and The New York Times occupied the top search results, ranking above Trump's campaign website, which was in sixth place.

When researchers searched for 'Kamala Harris 2024 presidential campaign', Harris' campaign website ranked third, and 8 out of 9 different news articles appearing on the first page were from left-leaning media.

MRC founder Brent Bozell bluntly stated on Wednesday: 'Google is trying to boost Kamala Harris.'

Google denied intentionally manipulating search results this Friday and believed there were inaccuracies in MRC's report. A Google spokesperson told the media: 'Both candidates' campaign websites have consistently appeared at the top of search results for relevant and common search queries.'

He also explained, 'Queries about presidential elections or candidates often show a variety of changing links leading to different news articles reflecting online content - so they keep changing... We absolutely do not manipulate search results to favor any candidate... In fact, some media reports claim that compared to other search engines, Trump's campaign website ranks higher in Google search results.'

Back in 2019, Trump also made similar critical remarks about Google. At that time, he posted a series of tweets on X (then known as Twitter), accusing Google of being more inclined to show negative news about him during the 2016 election. However, Google denied these allegations at the time.

In recent weeks, some of Trump's supporters have raised accusations against Google again. In July this year, a few days after Trump's assassination attempt, one of Trump's current supporters, Tesla CEO Musk, published an article on X accusing Google of blocking users from searching for Trump.
