Member warehouse-based retailer Costco (COST.US) expects consumers to shop early and buy more non-food items amid cooling inflation, expecting good news for the year-end sales season.
Costco Chief Financial Officer Gary Millerchip said that sales were strong ahead of Halloween, with consumer electronics expected to drop in price during the holiday season, consumers would upgrade computers and TVs, and sales were expected to improve.
Costco offers holiday items in advance to avoid any confusion in the supply chain. If the price is right, consumers will buy the goods, he said.
