Consumer stocks showed significant gains, with Topsports (06110.HK) up by 23%, China Eastern Airlines (00670.HK) and JD Logistics (02618.HK) up by 18% and 17%, Mengniu (02319.HK), Tongcheng Travel (00780.HK), China Southern Airlines (01055.HK), China Duty Free (01880.HK), Jiumaojiu (09922.HK), Air China (00753.HK), China International Travel Service (00881.HK), Ctrip (09961.HK), Maoyan (01896.HK), Miniso (09896.HK), and Yum China (09987.HK) rose by 10% to 15%. Macau gaming stocks Sands China (01928.HK) rose by 14%, Galaxy Entertainment (00027.HK) and Wynn Macau (01128.HK) rose by 8.8% and 9%.

Medical stocks surged, with Wuxi Apptec (02359.HK) rising by 24%, Remegen (09995.HK), WuXi Biologics (02269.HK), GenScript (01548.HK), and Pharmaron (03759.HK) rising by 14% to 17%, CanSino Biologics (06185.HK) and China National Pharmaceutical (01099.HK) rising by 10% and 7.8%. In the automobile sector, Xiaopeng Motors (09868.HK) rose by 9.1%, BYD Company Limited (01211.HK), Changan Automobile (02333.HK), and Geely Automobile (00175.HK) rose by 4.9% to 6.6%. In the lithium industry, Ganfeng Lithium (01772.HK) and Tianqi Lithium Corporation (09696.HK) rose by 7.4% and 13%.

Real estate stocks continued to be active, with Sunac China (01030.HK), Country Garden (00960.HK), Greentown China (03900.HK), Yuexiu Property (00123.HK), Vanke (02202.HK), and K. Among brokerage stocks, China Galaxy Securities (06881.HK), CITIC Securities (03908.HK), and CITIC Securities (06030.HK) rose by 15% to 18%, China Securities Co.,Ltd. (06066.HK), GF Securities (01776.HK), and Huatai Securities (06886.HK) rose by 10% to 14%. In terms of mainland insurance companies, Zhongan Online P & C Insurance (06060.HK) and Ping An Insurance (02318.HK) rose by 13% and 6.7%. Mainland banking stocks fell against the market, with China Construction Bank (00939.HK), Bank of China (03988.HK), Bank of Communications (03328.HK), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (01398.HK), and Postal Savings Bank of China (01658.HK) falling by 2.4% to 3.4%, and Agricultural Bank of China (01288.HK) falling by 6%.

In other stock news, HSBC Holdings (00005.HK) rose by 0.9% to 70.6 Hong Kong dollars, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) and AIA Group (01299.HK) rose by 11% and 7.5% respectively. The Chief Executive Officer of Shanghai New World (00017.HK) resigned and discussed selling the sports park rights, resulting in a 21.6% increase in stock price. Similarly, NWDS China (00825.HK) from the same group rose by 53%.
