With the National Day holiday approaching, the demand for cross-border travel by Chinese and foreign tourists is strong, and national ports will welcome a peak in entry and exit traffic.

According to the National Immigration Administration's forecast, during the National Day holiday period, the daily number of entry and exit passengers is expected to reach 1.75 million, an 18.5% increase from the same period last year.

It is expected that the peak flow of inbound and outbound passengers will mainly focus on October 1st and 6th.

Large international airport ports are seeing a steady increase in entry and exit passenger traffic, with Beijing Capital Airport, Shanghai Pudong Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, and Chengdu Tianfu Airport expected to receive daily entry and exit passengers of 0.043 million, 0.083 million, 0.045 million, and 0.017 million respectively.

Adjacent to the Hong Kong and Macau land ports, passenger traffic remains high, with Zhuhai Gongbei, Qingmao, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Hengqin ports expected to receive daily entry and exit passengers of 0.32 million, 0.104 million, 0.081 million, and 0.075 million respectively, while Shenzhen Luohu, Futian, Shenzhen Bay, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail West Kowloon Station ports are expected to receive daily entry and exit passengers of 0.199 million, 0.173 million, 0.118 million, and 0.089 million respectively.

CICC International stated that domestic tourism revenue/number of people during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday increased by 8%/6% compared to 2019, with the recovery of per capita tourism spending better than during the Dragon Boat Festival.

From the National Day holiday booking data, domestic and outbound air ticket prices dropped by 20% year-on-year (Flight Butler), which is basically consistent with the booking data of OTA platforms; the ADR of high-star hotels has significantly decreased year-on-year, while low-star hotels remain relatively stable. The industry believes that, in the current consumer environment, the frequency of domestic travel orders and the recovery level of outbound travel are worth paying attention to. OTA platforms are expected to maintain solid performance with the support of a mature operational system.
