LIXIL Corporation (hereinafter referred to as LIXIL) has been continuously promoting and raising awareness about counterfeit water purifier cartridges that have been flooding the market in recent years. In order for customers to use our products with peace of mind and safety, we believe that further strengthening our efforts is crucial. Therefore, we have issued the 'Counterfeit Water Purifier Cartridge Eradication Declaration.' Moving forward, we will collaborate with industry peers to eradicate counterfeit water purifier cartridges.

Recently, the packaging and appearance of counterfeit water purifier cartridges, which have become a problem throughout the industry, have been meticulously created, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish them from genuine products. Since water purifier cartridges are products intended for drinking and other purposes, if counterfeit products do not possess the functions or quality they should have based on the product labeling, they may not only disappoint and betray customer expectations and trust in the product, but also pose a safety hazard. This is something that cannot be overlooked.
LIXIL has agreed to the 'Enhanced Declaration for Countering Counterfeit Water Purifier Cartridges,' issued by the Japan Water Purifier Association on September 25th, and hereby declares the following in order to eliminate counterfeit products:

Regarding LIXIL's past responses:
Since confirming the existence of counterfeit products of its own brand for the first time in 2020, LIXIL has conducted performance and material inspections of multiple counterfeit products. It has confirmed the poor quality of counterfeit products such as differences in water purification performance evaluation and raw materials displayed on packages and sales sites as product information.
Furthermore, we have taken various measures, including initiating activities to delete counterfeit products in collaboration with major EC sites, direct sales of genuine products, counterfeit product countermeasures in cooperation with water purifier associations and the media, detention at customs as a measure against counterfeits, and crackdown on counterfeit production bases in China.
At the same time, as part of our awareness campaign for customers, we have continued to inform customers about the existence of counterfeit products through our website, TV commercials, etc., while recommending the use of genuine water purifier cartridges and raising awareness.
However, we recognize the seriousness of the current situation where the proliferation of sophisticated and diversified counterfeit products has not been completely stopped. We have determined that the industry should work together to address this issue and have made this declaration.
