In the American Depositary Receipt (ADR) market, Japanese stocks such as Tokyo Electron <8035>, Advantest <6857>, Mizuho Financial Group <8411>, Fujitsu <6702>, Renesas <6723>, Komatsu <6301>, Tokio Marine Holdings <8766>, and others rose compared to the Tokyo Stock Exchange (+1 dollar to 144.76 yen). Overall, there was a predominant buying trend. The Chicago Nikkei 225 futures settlement price closed at 39,280 yen, up 620 yen from the Osaka daytime session.

The U.S. stock market rose. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 42,175.11, up by 260.36 points, while the NASDAQ finished trading at 18,190.29, up by 108.08 points. Following better-than-expected economic indicators, buying interest increased due to improved economic prospects. After the opening, the market rose. The Chinese government indicated a policy of strengthening fiscal support to achieve growth targets, which also supported the outlook for demand recovery. Micron (MU) led the rise in the semiconductor sector on the NASDAQ. The market remained firm throughout the day and closed positively.

In the New York foreign exchange market on the 26th, the dollar-yen pair fell to 144.11 yen, then rose to 145.21 yen, and closed at 144.85 yen. Due to the decrease in U.S. long-term interest rates, dollar selling dominated initially. However, the confirmed GDP for the 4th-6th quarter exceeded expectations, and the number of new jobless claims in the U.S. last week reached a four-month low, proving the resilience of the economy and labor market. With rising interest rates, dollar buying strengthened. The U.S. August existing home sales index fell below expectations, and as a result of a successful 7-year bond auction, the temporary rise in interest rates paused, causing the dollar to struggle. The Euro-US dollar pair fell to 1.1126 before rising to 1.1189 and closing at 1.1175. The Euro was initially sold on expectations of additional interest rate cuts by the European Central Bank (ECB). However, as U.S. interest rates stabilized, dollar selling increased.

NY crude oil futures for November fell again (NYMEX crude oil November contract closing price: 67.67, down 2.02).
