Our President Kiya Soga attended as a member at the Council Meeting of WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) held in New York, USA on September 22-23, 2024.
The Council Meeting, held in conjunction with Climate Week, discussed specific actions for climate crisis and concrete initiatives towards sustainable business.
It was a great opportunity to directly convey our company's assertion to the top global corporate leaders that 'without decarbonizing logistics, achieving carbon neutrality in all industries is impossible.'

Overview of the Council Meeting

At the Council Meeting, discussions were held on enhancing inter-company cooperation across industries to achieve common goals, accelerating the introduction of innovative business models, new mechanisms and measures for transition planning, and innovative approaches to managing climate impacts in supply chains and overall business.

It is a valuable opportunity for our company to take a big step towards a sustainable future, demonstrating global leadership in climate change mitigation, contributing to the resolution of important societal issues, and enhancing long-term growth and competitiveness.
We have once again recognized the importance of contributing to global value creation as a company supporting important infrastructures worldwide by demonstrating specific initiatives towards achieving the net zero goal for greenhouse gases.
Based on the insights gained from this meeting, our company will continue to strengthen its response to climate change and further promote initiatives towards a sustainable future.
