Yamaha Motor Sales Co., Ltd. will release the road racing and circuit-exclusive model "YZF-R1 Race Base Car (2025 model)" for a limited period of reservation production on February 28, 2025.
This "YZF-R1 Race Base Car" for this time is a model based on the 2025 model super sport "YZF-R1" (European version), designed for races and circuit purposes. The main changes from the previous model include: 1) winglets contributing to the vehicle's stability, 2) KYB's new front shock absorption enabling precise damping control (new mechanism with added base valve, separate extension and compression damping forces on the left and right independently), 3) Brembo's front foundation brake enhancing control feeling (monobloc caliper "Stylema(R)*" and radial master cylinder), 4) adoption of seat upholstery to improve grip and hold performance. We have further refined cornering performance and aerodynamic characteristics, incorporating updates that bring a feeling of MotoGP machine-derived technology.
The first phase will be from September 25, 2024 (Wednesday) to October 9, 2024 (Wednesday), and the second phase will be from October 10, 2024 (Thursday) to November 29, 2024 (Friday). Orders will be accepted through limited-time reservations, and the reservation locations will be Yamaha On-Road Competition Model Authorized Dealers nationwide.

The headlamp, position lamp, taillight, mudguard, horn, tandem seat, tandem step, rear fender, mirror, flasher, onboard tools, and graphics will be shipped after removal.
* Purchase privilege: Circuit-specific parts "Wire Harness Set" and "ECU" (including F.I. Matching Software) will be sent separately from the main vehicle.
Please choose from 2 types of ECU. Select 'SBK' for JSB/EWC or 'SST' for ST1000/SST when placing the vehicle order.
The 'YZF-R1 Race Base Vehicle' has not received certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, therefore cannot obtain license plates and cannot travel on roads. Operating on roads would violate the Road Traffic Act and the Road Transport Vehicle Act. Even areas like private roads, temple and shrine premises, seaside, embankments, farm roads, forest roads, where the road structure is not organized and people and vehicles can freely enter and exit, are considered roads.
