Gelonghui, September 23rd - The Canadian union Unifor announced last Sunday that the union members of the CAMI assembly and battery assembly plants in Ontario have approved a two-year contract with General Motors. The contract stipulates that workers will immediately receive a 10% raise, and will receive an additional 2% and 3% raise in September 2025 and July 2026 respectively. The union stated in a declaration that the contract will also provide a 20.25% raise for skilled workers. The local union Unifor Local 88 represents over 1300 members of the CAMI assembly and battery assembly plants, who are responsible for producing the Chevrolet BrightDrop EV 600/EV 400 and Ultium battery modules.
