Bursa Malaysia Rises As Wall Street's Optimism Boosts Investor Confidence

Bursa Malaysia closed higher on Friday, following the positive trend in most Asian markets and gains on Wall Street, where investors reacted favourably to the US Federal Reserve's significant interest rate cut.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) increased by 3.17 points, or 0.19%, finishing at 1,668.82, up from Thursday's close of 1,665.65. During the session, the index opened 5.03 points higher at 1,670.68 and fluctuated between 1,668.48 and 1,674.04.

In the broader market, gainers outnumbered decliners, with 732 stocks advancing compared to 468 that declined. There were 465 counters unchanged, 850 untraded, and 32 suspended.

Turnover rose to 4.19 billion units valued at RM5.97 billion, compared to Thursday's 3.99 billion units worth RM4.08 billion.
