The market is concerned about the progress of negotiations between the European Union and China on tariffs for electric vehicles. According to a report by Citigroup, the sales volume of Chinese brand passenger vehicles (internal combustion engine (ICE) + new energy vehicles (NEV)) in Western Europe decreased by 13.3% in August this year (0.8% year-on-year). In the first eight months, the market share of Chinese brand passenger vehicles in various European countries fell by 0.1 percentage points to 2.8% year-on-year; only in August, the market share was 3.9%, higher than 3.3% in July. As for new energy vehicles, the sales volume of Chinese brand new energy passenger vehicles in Western Europe increased by 12.9% in August this year, and the market share increased by 2.1 percentage points to 8.2% month-on-month (0.5 percentage points year-on-year).
