According to the IDC's "Global Smart Home Device Market Quarterly Tracking Report Q2 2024", global smart floor cleaning robots shipped 5.117 million units in the second quarter, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%. In the first half of the year, with product function upgrades and faster release of new products, the proportion of high-end products increased, driving up the average unit price. In the second quarter, the domestic market saw an increase to $485. Chinese manufacturers are accelerating their pace of "going global", especially in developed countries, where domestically produced all-purpose floor cleaning robots quickly grabbed market share with their performance advantages. Beijing Roborock Technology had the highest shipment volume this quarter, marking the first time a Chinese manufacturer has topped the smart floor cleaning robot market.

In the second quarter of 2024, the top manufacturers of global smart floor cleaning robots performed as follows:
In the second half of 2024, the global floor cleaning robot market is expected to ship 10.25 million units, a year-on-year increase of 7.5% for the full year. The competition for product performance will focus on the ultra-thin body, lifting height, and obstacle avoidance height required to solve cleaning blind spots. At the same time, in response to hair entanglement issues, manufacturers will continue to differentiate their products through upgrades in anti-tangling brush technology and suction power.
Zhao Siquan, Senior Analyst at IDC China, believes that the main competition in the smart floor cleaning robot market in the second half of the year will focus on high-end products. The introduction of AI capabilities will also lead to differences in the understanding of user's natural language instructions, and the accelerated layout of floor cleaning machine manufacturers will bring new competitive pressures to the floor cleaning robot market. In terms of competition regions, the average unit price of current products keeps rising, posing certain requirements on consumers' purchasing power. The North American and Western European markets remain the primary competition regions for Chinese manufacturers venturing overseas.
