Meituan's drone, under the Meituan-W (03690.HK), recently announced a partnership with Yum China (09987.HK)'s Pizza Hut, becoming the first pizza brand to offer drone delivery service on the Meituan platform. After multiple negotiations, the focus was placed on integrating the 6-inch and 9-inch classic pizzas to fit the size of Meituan's fourth-generation drone delivery boxes. Based on this, Pizza Hut launched customized single and multiple servings for aerial delivery.

This innovative attempt will first be implemented at the Vibrant City and One Central stores of Pizza Hut in Shenzhen. Customers can place orders near the drone delivery points at Shenzhen Hengmingzhu International Financial Center and Shenzhen Huashenglong Yue, and the meals will be delivered just minutes after being packed.

The project leader of Meituan's drone team stated that the group will continue to expand the application of drones and seek more collaborations to provide consumers with more convenient and efficient services.

As of the end of June this year, Meituan's drone has opened 31 routes in cities such as Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, with a cumulative number of completed orders exceeding 0.3 million.
