Based on this, Xiaomi submitted the design patent on December 21, 2022, showcasing two design proposals, and shared multiple design sketches. The back of the Xiaomi tri-fold phone adopts a horizontal placement camera solution, with a triple rear camera and a dual hinge design.

According to the digital gossip Weibo account, Xiaomi is currently focusing on both small and large foldable screen product lines, with the small fold being the MIX Flip series, and the large fold being the MIX Fold series. Xiaomi has only reserved the technology for the tri-fold screen and there is no commercial production plan for the time being.
