After three consecutive days from September 15th to 17th, the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in Mainland China ended. The number of Mainland tourists visiting Hong Kong through various ports exceeded 0.35 million, an increase of about 49% compared to the previous weekend's daily average number of Mainland tourists.
Tse Ting-fung, the Executive Director of the Travel Industry Council, stated that more than 0.14 million Mainland visitors on average visited Hong Kong during the first two days of the Mid-Autumn Festival this year, which is higher than the usual nearly 0.08 million visitors on weekends. He expressed satisfaction with this, and the hotel occupancy rate is also satisfactory.
He mentioned that the current hotel bookings for the National Day holiday are ideal, with room rates for mid-range and budget hotels expected to increase by about 10% to 15% annually. It is anticipated that the occupancy rate will reach 70% to 80%.
