On September 12, 2024, Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Chifeng Gold") (600988.SH) announced the further appointment of Macquarie Capital Limited as its overall coordinator.
Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining submitted a prospectus to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on August 30, 2024, with CITIC Securities/CITIC CLSA as its exclusive sponsor. As of the date of the announcement, Chifeng Gold has appointed CITIC CLSA and Macquarie as its overall coordinators.
Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining is mainly engaged in the mining, selection, and sales of gold, and is the largest private gold producer in China. As of August 20, 2024, Chifeng Gold owns and operates 7 gold and multi-metal mines located in China, Southeast Asia, and West Africa. According to the Frost Sullivan report, in terms of gold resources, Chifeng Gold ranks fifth among gold producers in China, with a gold resource of 14.6 million ounces as of March 31, 2024. In terms of gold production, the company ranks fifth among listed gold producers in China, with a gold production of 0.4615 million ounces in 2023. In addition, Chifeng Gold is the fastest-growing gold producer among listed peers in China. From 2021 to 2023, the company achieved a compound annual growth rate of 33.1% in gold production, far exceeding the average growth rate of 16.4% among major listed gold producers in China.
According to the prospectus, as of August 20, 2024, Ms. Li Jinyang holds a total of 14.54% of the shares in Chifeng Gold prior to its listing in Hong Kong. The directors and senior management collectively hold 74,729,571 A-shares, accounting for 4.49% of the shares (including Chairman and Executive Director Mr. Wang Jianhua, who holds 74,200,071 A-shares, accounting for 4.46%). Other A-share shareholders hold 80.97% of the shares.
