[Paper package that showcases fountain pens]
A recyclable paper package with a special transparent coating (Paper Air coating) on the front, which allows the fountain pen inside the package to be visible. Considering the popularity of Sailor fountain pens overseas, this product is designed to meet both overseas environmental regulations and user needs by using a single material with transparent coating (Paper Air coating), and it is also highly recyclable. It has been adopted as a new paper package that is in line with the SDGs and the sustainable era. We will continue to support Sailor Fountain Pen, which is actively engaged in environmental conservation activities such as the 'Forestationary' project, including this package.

We have developed a 720g UD Eco-PET that improves usability and addresses environmental concerns based on the existing 910g Eco-PET. The bottle and label are made with partially recycled PET resin. The corners of the bottle have been rounded as much as possible to create an oval shape that fits comfortably in the hand. The center of the bottle has a recess with our company's logo, allowing for a secure grip. The shrink label is typically difficult to peel from the bottle due to its strong adhesion, but by adding a recess at the bottom of the bottle, it becomes easier to remove. The cardboard box adopts an easy-to-open sewing method in SRP specifications, aiming to streamline the opening and display operations at retail stores.

In order to promote environmental consideration while maintaining the functions provided by plastic containers, we have developed containers using biomass-allocated polystyrene based on the mass balance method associated with renewable resources, which was traditionally difficult to include in polystyrene. The mainstream plastics, such as polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate, are different from the conventional plant-derived polystyrene, and the inclusion of biomass materials was previously thought to cause a decrease in container function due to changes in material properties, making industrialization difficult. However, by implementing mass balance certification efforts throughout the supply chain, it has become possible to adopt biomass polystyrene materials.

In the fiscal year 2023, we are currently offering 4 series, with 2 series added in 2024, for a total of 6 series.
It was possible to reduce the material of 1.8 tons of paper (0.42 million sheets of A4 paper) and 0.8 tons of plastic (0.26 million 500ml plastic bottles).

The era of 'Nekonomics' has arrived! Cats have surpassed dogs, which were the top in the number of pets raised since 2017. Taking advantage of the fact that cats like the scent of cardboard and newspaper, the product was designed with the concept of using cardboard material to keep costs low. It was also produced for sale at 100-yen shops to reduce the burden on purchasers even if the cats play and break it. By shaping the cat house made of cool in summer and warm in winter cardboard materials into a puzzle shape, it can be connected. It can be enjoyed as a single item, or multiple units can be used for various configurations such as cat towers or cat tunnels, providing flexibility for enjoyment due to their low price of 100 yen.

Waterproof corrugated cardboard honey bee box. It can be used as a honey bee box by enclosing approximately 1,000 bees and food and transporting and opening it. Compared to the common wooden honey bee box, it reduces transportation costs and is easy to dispose of after use. The entry and exit of bees is controlled by moving the sleeve up and down. The design takes into account the behavior of bees, such as a structure that prevents external light from entering. The graphic design is expressed using a flexographic printing pattern that abstracts the honeycomb.

'Ceiling hang air conditioner packaging material adhesive-less'

For the packaging of commercial air conditioner indoor units (ceiling suspended type) for overseas export that exceed 50kg, a combination of corrugated cardboard, wooden plywood, and expanded polystyrene with 15 adhesives was used.
As a result, packaging assembly was time-consuming, and it was difficult to separate and recycle packaging materials after use.
This time, we successfully reduced the amount of wood veneer and cardboard pasted together by 100% by developing a new tray made of cardboard that is easy to assemble, difficult to detach, and resistant to shifting. We also achieved a reduction in the amount of wood used, resulting in a 21% reduction in packaging weight, a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions, and an 8% reduction in packaging volume.

'High-pullification with American lock for peace of mind'

We used foamed polystyrene as cushioning material, but by switching to cardboard pallets, the need for foam was eliminated. This led to a reduction in mold costs for receiving materials and industrial waste.
In addition, with the change to the American lock style from the conventional semi-A style, we were able to suppress the opening of the flaps and enable stacking in multiple layers without the risk of cargo collapse caused by rebound. It is also possible to assemble with one touch. (Reducing assembly time and staples)
