British Petroleum (BP) will sell its US onshore wind business BP Wind Energy, valued at about $2 billion, as the company is shrinking its renewable energy business and selling underperforming assets.

British Petroleum says it will sell nine wind farms it owns directly, as well as a stake in a Hawaiian wind farm project, to focus on acquiring solar business Lightsource bp.
