On Sunday US Eastern Time, the Republican presidential candidate Trump encountered a "suspected assassination attempt" at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

After the incident, Trump is currently safe, and the suspect has been arrested. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States stated that they are investigating the incident of the "suspected attempt to assassinate" the Republican presidential candidate.

Is Trump "assassinated" again?

According to law enforcement sources, on the day when Trump was playing golf, a man with an AK-style rifle appeared near the golf course and aimed the gun at Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Secret Service agents shot at the suspect carrying a weapon for protection, the suspect fled in a car and was subsequently arrested. Some officials believe that the suspect's target was Trump.

Ric Bradshaw, the Sheriff of Palm Beach County, revealed more details, saying that an agent fired a gun at the time, the suspect then dropped the rifle, drove away in an SUV, leaving behind the gun, two backpacks, a scope, and a gopro camera. The man was later detained in a neighboring county.

Two officials stated that an AK-style firearm was found at the scene near the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. There were no reports of injuries.

After the incident, Trump tweeted that he was safe. In a fundraising email, he said,

"I heard gunshots near me, but before the rumors started to spiral out of control, I wanted you to hear this: I am safe and well!"

This event is definitely one of the most shocking moments in the history of this year's election. Just 9 weeks ago, Trump narrowly escaped another assassination attempt. On July 13th, Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, with a bullet grazing his ear. Eight days later, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden dropped out of the race, making way for Vice President Kamala Harris to become the party's nominee.

Trump was playing golf when the incident occurred.

According to reports, Trump had just returned from the West Coast last weekend. Trump often plays golf in the morning and then has lunch at this West Palm Beach golf club.

US officials revealed that the golf course was partially closed while Trump was playing, and agents noticed the armed individual near the first few holes where he was playing.

At the time, there were several areas around the golf course where golfers could be seen from the fence line. Secret Service agents and officials riding golf carts and ATVs would usually be stationed in front of and behind him for the first few holes. Agents would also bring an armored vehicle onto the course to quickly provide protection for Trump in case of a threat.

According to sources, after the incident, Trump safely returned to his private Mar-a-Lago estate in nearby Palm Beach.

Harris breathed a sigh of relief.

The White House stated that President Biden and Vice President Harris have been briefed and will be kept updated on the progress of the investigation. The White House also said that they breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that Trump was safe.

Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, stated in a statement that she is "glad" that Trump is safe and added that "America should not tolerate violence".

One of President Trump's key allies in Congress, Senator Lindsey Graham, posted on X that he has already spoken with Trump after the incident and stated that Trump is in a "good state of mind" and is "one of the strongest people I know".
