President of Culp Picks Up 4.8% More Stock

Simply Wall St ·  Sep 14 21:11

Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Robert Culp, the President of Culp, Inc. (NYSE:CULP) recently shelled out US$92k to buy stock, at US$5.71 per share. Although the purchase is not a big one, increasing their shareholding by only 4.8%, it can be interpreted as a good sign.

Culp Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent purchase by Robert Culp was the biggest purchase of Culp shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That implies that an insider found the current price of US$5.72 per share to be enticing. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. The good news for Culp share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

Culp insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Overall, this level of ownership isn't that impressive, but it's certainly better than nothing!

So What Do The Culp Insider Transactions Indicate?

It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchases. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions.
