South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said that SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, is holding talks with the South African government to negotiate the launch of satellite services for Starlink in the most developed country in Africa.
Musk and Ramaphosa held talks on potential investment. Musk, who was born in South Africa, was told by Ramaphosa that he is investing in multiple countries and hopes he can invest in his country of birth.
According to a map posted on the Starlink website, Zimbabwe became the 16th African country to receive high-speed internet service last week. Musk stated last Sunday that he is still awaiting approval from regulatory authorities for Starlink investment in South Africa.
