Hong Kong stocks rose today, with the Hang Seng Index opening 57 points higher. After rising 300 points to 17,540 points in the early session, the increase narrowed, closing up 128 points or 0.75% at 17,369 points. The HSI Tech Index rose 4 points or 0.1% to 3,479 points. In the technology sector, Alibaba (09988.HK) fell 0.5% to 82.75 HKD, while Tencent (00700.HK) rose 0.6% to 374.8 HKD. In the electric vehicle sector, BYD (01211.HK) rose 0.4% to 239.8 HKD, while Nio (09866.HK) fell 3%. Automobile agency Zhongsheng (00881.HK) rose 2.9%. Mainland lithium futures prices fell, with Ganfeng (01772.HK) and Tianqi (09696.HK) falling 2.2% and 6.1% respectively. In terms of domestic consumption, Haier Smart Home (06690.HK) rose 3.4%, Mengniu (02319.HK) rose 2.1%, and Bud Apac (01876.HK) fell 3.7%. Aviation stocks Nanshang (01055.HK) and Air China (00753.HK) fell 2.8% and 3.8% respectively.

Medical stocks rose, with Kangfang (09926.HK) rising 9.5%, Pharmaron (03759.HK) rising 5.7%, Concord (00867.HK), Johnson (03692.HK), China Biologic (01177.HK), and Sino Biopharm (02005.HK) rising 3.5% to 4.3%.

Gold prices hit new highs, with SD Gold (01787.HK) and China Gold International (02099.HK) rising 5.7% and 5.3% respectively, and Zhaojin (01818.HK) and Zijin (02899.HK) rising over 3%. Oil prices rose 2%, with Sinopec (00386.HK) and CNOOC (00883.HK) rising 2.1% and 1.8% respectively. The Baltic Dry Index rose 2%, while Cosco Shipping Holdings (01919.HK) and Modern Terminals (01308.HK) rose over 3%.

In the financial sector, it is reported that HSBC plans to ease recommendations for bank capital tightening, causing HSBC (00005.HK) to rise 0.5%. HKEX (00388.HK) rose 1.4%, while AIA Group (01299.HK) fell 0.5%. CMB (03968.HK), Postal Savings Bank of China (01658.HK), and China Life (02628.HK) all rose over 2%, with Bank of Communications (00939.HK) and ICBC (01398.HK) rising 1.7%. In the real estate sector, Longfor (00960.HK) rose 3%, while Country Garden (03377.HK) fell 11.2% and property management stock CR Vanguard (01209.HK) rose 2.8%.

In other stocks, China Unicom (00762.HK) and Swire A (00019.HK) rose 2.2% and 2.6% respectively.
