Republican presidential candidate Trump responded on the 11th that Taylor might “pay the price” for his choices. Trump's campaign partner Vance said he believes most Americans will not be influenced by a celebrity with a net worth of hundreds of millions.

Vance said, “When food prices rise 20%, it will hurt most Americans, but it won't hurt Taylor Swift. When housing prices become unaffordable, it won't affect Taylor Swift or other billionaires, but it does affect middle class Americans across the country.”

There is a lot of controversy in the US political community

As an American traffic superstar, the influence of “mold and mildew” really cannot be underestimated. A US General Services Administration (GSA) spokesperson said that Swift's Instagram post supporting Harris prompted over 0.33 million visitors to the Vote.gov website. This website is the federal government's voter registration website and is operated by the General Services Administration.

David Thomas, a Democratic strategist and aide to former Vice President Al Gore, said, “Taylor Swift is the biggest celebrity in the world, and many people adore her. She's very important.”

Generally speaking, the political support of most celebrities often doesn't affect voters in front of the ballot box. However, Cayce Myers, professor of public relations at the Virginia Tech School of Communication and director of the Graduate School, said Swift was “different” from the average celebrity.

“Swift is a cultural icon and very popular among young people. Her strength lies in her demographics, social media presence, and her use of social media that really makes it unique,” Myers said, adding that the Grammy winner's support is probably more influential than other superstars because of her strong Gen Z audience.

“Her fan base probably won't watch this debate from beginning to end. Their opinions don't come from traditional media. They get lots of information from social networking sites. They love using Instagram and TikTok.” Myers said. “So if she talks about politics on that forum, they'll probably get news from her.”

Republican strategist Doug Haye believes that Swift's support will open doors for young voters and may have a huge impact on Harris's fund-raising efforts. He said, “This provides another way for Democrats to reach out to these audiences.”

Thomas also added, “She (mold) encouraged people to register and go out to vote. If a small group of Taylor Swift's fans decide to register to vote because of her words, this could have an impact in places like Pennsylvania, Georgia, or Michigan.”

But at the same time, Haye also warned that the Democrats need to calm down and not overestimate her influence. “It's still an even competition,” he said.
