Promoting the introduction of renewable energy on a global scale.
Toyota Boshoku Turkey, a European regional production subsidiary of Toyota Boshoku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, President: Masayoshi Shirayanagi), and TB Soratec Turkey, opened a solar power generation facility and held an opening ceremony on September 10th.
Turkey is focusing on the introduction of renewable energy, and Toyota Boshoku has constructed a solar power generation facility to secure renewable energy for stable electricity. The power generation capacity is 10MWP (maximum power generation capacity), and an annual reduction of approximately 5,800 tons of CO2 emissions is expected.
As a result, Toyota Boshoku Turkey and TB Soratec Turkey can meet the electricity demand of both companies through self-generation using 100% renewable energy.
The Toyota Boshoku Group has set the goal of achieving 'Net Zero GHG from factories※' in its 2050 environmental vision, and has been accelerating the introduction of renewable energy since the 2022 fiscal year.
In Japan, the introduction rate of renewable energy for electrical utilities has already reached 100% in 12 out of 13 factories, and the goal is to achieve a 100% introduction rate at domestic subsidiaries and affiliated companies by 2030, and further to achieve a 100% introduction rate for all factories including overseas by 2035.
※ To reduce the emission of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) from factories to virtually zero.
