At the closing 12 days ago, the number of rising stocks in the Nikkei average list was 208, the number of falling stocks was 16, and the unchanged stocks was 1.

The Nikkei Average rebounded for the first time in 8 days. It closed the morning session of trading at 36,605.62 yen, a gain of 985.85 yen (+2.77%), with a volume of approximately 920 million shares.

The US stock market rose on the 11th. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 40,861.71, up 124.75 points (+0.31%), the Nasdaq closed at 17,395.53, up 369.65 points (+2.17%), and the S&P 500 closed at 5,554.13, up 58.61 points (+1.07%). The core index of the consumer price index (CPI) for August accelerated unexpectedly, leading to a decline in buying expectations for a significant interest rate cut. The market fell after opening due to concerns about a government shutdown risk at the end of September, but Dow Jones narrowed its losses due to a recovery in the financial sector after Goldman Sachs CEO Solomon expressed an optimistic view of the economy, still expecting a soft landing, at an event hosted by the company. The Nasdaq was supported by semiconductor company Nvidia, among others, and turned higher, supporting the overall market. Towards the end of the session, the Dow also recovered into positive territory and closed.

The Tokyo market started trading with a bias towards buying, following the rise in US stocks and a pause in the strong yen trend. The Nikkei Average widened its gains and reached over 1,200 yen above the previous day's close, partly due to speculation that buybacks against the recent decline were entering the futures market. Trading also took into account the September settlement index for options and futures (SQ value), and the market development was somewhat futures-driven, resulting in a trading value of 1.9 trillion yen in the prime market.

Among the stocks adopted in the Nikkei Average, IHI <7013> and UBE <4208> were bought due to positive reports from domestic securities companies. In addition, semiconductor stocks such as Advantest <6857>, Sosei Next <6526>, Tokyo Electron <8035>, and Softbank Group <9984> also rose. In addition, Ebara Corporation <6361>, Tokuyama <4043>, NEC <6701>, Fujikura <5803>, Kawasaki Heavy Industries <7012>, and others were bought.

On the other hand, Daiichi Sankyo <4568>, Asahi Group Holdings <2502>, Nisshin Flour Milling <2002>, Tokyo Building <8804>, Obayashi Corporation <1802>, and NTT <9432> were sold. Outside of the Nikkei Average, Kobe Bussan <3038>, which had been showing strong movement, fell due to negative sentiment towards its financial results.

While all industries were rising, the rise in electric appliances, nonferrous metals, marine transportation, machinery, and precision instruments was noticeable.

The top contributor to the rise was Fast Retailing <9983>, which pushed the Nikkei average up by about 130 yen with 1 stock. The second place was SoftBank Group <9984>, followed by Advantest <6857>, Tokyo Electron <8035>, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063>, TDK <6762>, Recruit Holdings <6098>, and others.

On the other hand, the top contributor to the decline was Daiichi Sankyo, which pushed down the Nikkei average by about 12 yen with one stock. Asahi was ranked second, followed by Nikkei Hamu, Obayashi Corporation, NTT, Toyo Construction, Nisshin Flour G, etc.
