GLONGHUI, September 12 | Car manufacturer Stellantis told its US dealers on Wednesday that the company's sales volume in August increased 21% compared to July, and dealers' inventory decreased by about 10% in the past two months. According to Bloomberg, citing an open letter dated September 10, Stellantis National Dealer Chairman criticized CEO Carlos Tavares for causing the “rapid depreciation” of the car manufacturer's brand and urged him to spend more money cleaning up old inventory. The report also said that retailers accuse the CEO of “short-term decisions” that boosted last year's profits and increased his compensation, but they claim this has led to a contraction in market share. Stellantis also said that August's market share increased 0.7 percentage points over the previous month, adding that “open personal attacks, such as the NDC chairman's attack on the CEO in an open letter, are not the most effective way to solve the problem.”
