交银国际:预计内地电池企业海外市场份额仍有提升空间

Bocom Intl: Expecting further growth potential for domestic battery companies in overseas markets.

Gelonghui Finance ·  Sep 12 10:33

On September 12th, Bocom Intl released a report stating that the sluggish sales of overseas electric vehicles in July led to a slowdown in the growth of battery installation. From January to July, the overseas battery installation increased by 13% year-on-year to 193GWh, and the battery installation in July increased by 10% year-on-year to 28GWh. The bank believes that the slowdown in the growth of overseas battery installation is mainly due to the sluggish sales of electric vehicles in the same period. From January to July, the market share of mainland battery companies in overseas markets increased by 4.3 percentage points year-on-year to 34.8%. The report points out that in overseas markets, due to the relaxation of carbon dioxide emission regulations in Europe and the United States and the uncertainty of the US presidential election, the bank expects that the sales of new energy vehicles and the growth rate of battery installation will still be sluggish. In order to cope with the imposition of tariffs on Chinese new energy vehicles and batteries by Europe, some mainland battery companies and new energy vehicle manufacturers have set up production lines overseas. With the promotion of localized production, it is expected that the market share of mainland battery companies in overseas markets will continue to increase.
