Shinchi's (00016.HK) member rewards program “The Point” launched its Merchant Earn Points service earlier this year, allowing users to simultaneously scan the member QR code to earn points after spending at designated merchants in 25 Shinji malls. Shinji recently announced that the new arrangement for The Point Registration Points will be implemented from November 4. Registration points and the use of Point Dollar will only be available to “Earn Points” participating merchants, and the ability to upload notes on the app will be disabled after spending, and the threshold for registering points at the mall counter will be increased from $100 million to 0.03 million Meta or above.
As of now, more than 2,000 stores are participating in the Earn It Now Shopping Mall, covering more than six hundred merchants. The Group explained that the arrangement was to enable customers to register points more smoothly.
In early January this year, the Kwun Tong Police Department arrested two men and women, aged 28 to 29, on suspicion of fraud, when the two men were allegedly charged with fraudulently downloading tampered shopping receipts on the New Zealand's The Point mobile app to scammed the value of about $0.1 million in points.
