The US stock market rose. The Dow average closed at 40,861.71 dollars, which rose 124.75 dollars, and the Nasdaq closed at 17,395.53, which rose 369.65 points.
The core index of the August Consumer Price Index (CPI) unexpectedly accelerated, and buying, which was expected to cut interest rates, retreated, and then fell after falling. Sales that were wary of the risk of government office closure at the end of September also further depressed the market price, and continued to drop drastically. After that, Solomon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the financial Goldman Sachs Group (GS), expressed an optimistic view on the economy at an event hosted by the company that he was still anticipating a soft landing, and the Dow narrowed the decline due to a pick-up in the financial sector. The NASDAQ was supported by semiconductors such as NVDA (NVDA), etc., and turned upward to support the overall market price. Towards the end of the game, the Dow also recovered to the positive zone and ended. By sector, while semiconductors/manufacturing equipment, and software/services rose, household and personal goods declined.
The semiconductor NVIDIA (NVDA) rose because CEO Fan mentioned at an event that demand for the company's products was excessively strong, leading to heightened tension between customers, and emphasized the strength of demand. The solar cell module manufacturing company, First Solar (FSLR) received a presidential candidate debate held on the evening of the 10th, and increased expectations for sales growth due to the view that the Democratic Party had the upper hand.
The exchange Coinbase (COIN) declined in connection with crypto assets promoted by Republican candidate Trump. Williams Sonoma (WSM), a retailer that handles cooking-related supplies, etc., has risen due to analysts' investment decisions raised. Children's clothing retailer Children's Place Retail Stores (PLCE) recorded an unexpected surplus in quarterly financial results and rose. Sales of Game Stop (GME), a game sales and retail company, have dropped drastically, and are drastically low.
The VIX Index, which shows investors' fears, fell to 17.55.
