Mainland banking stocks ICBC (01398.HK), Bank of China (03988.HK), and Postal Savings Bank of China (01658.HK) fell more than 2%, and Agricultural Bank of China (01288.HK) fell 3.7%. Mainland insurance stocks China Taiping (00966.HK) and PICC (01339.HK) fell more than 2%.

Sporting goods distributor Xtep International Holdings Limited (06110.HK) issued a profit warning, and the stock price fell 16.2% to close at HKD 2.23. Competitors Li Ning (02331.HK) and Anta Sports (02020.HK) fell 4.1% and 3.3% respectively. Textile stock Shenzhou International Group Holdings Limited (02313.HK) fell 4.9%. Hangzhou has further increased the subsidy standard for old-for-new cars. Electric vehicle stocks Xpeng Inc. (09868.HK) rose 3.3%, Nio Inc. (09866.HK) and BYD Company Limited (01211.HK) rose 2% and 1.7% respectively.

There are rumors in the market that Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited has suspended production at its mine in Yichun. Lithium futures on the mainland have rebounded significantly, with Ganfeng Lithium Co., Ltd. (01772.HK) and Tianqi Lithium Corporation (09696.HK) surging 9% and 13.1% respectively.

In other consumer and domestic demand stocks, Han's Laser Technology Industry Group Co., Ltd. (01044.HK) and Tongcheng-Elong Holdings Limited (00780.HK) fell 2.4% and 3.2% respectively, while China Feihe Limited (06186.HK) rose 3.9%. Home appliance stocks Hisense Home Appliances Group Co., Ltd. (00921.HK) and Haier Smart Home Co., Ltd. (06690.HK) rose 5.7% and 3.9% respectively.

The new Thai government plans to build 7 casino resorts, and gaming stocks SJM Holdings Limited (00027.HK), Wynn Macau, Limited (01128.HK), MGM China Holdings Limited (02282.HK), and Sands China Ltd. (01928.HK) fell 3% to 3.6%. Pharmaceutical stocks rebounded, with Beigene, Ltd. (06160.HK) rising 7.7%, and WuXi AppTec Co., Ltd. (02359.HK) and WuXi Biologics (Cayman) Inc. (02269.HK) rising 6.8% and 3.7% respectively.

International banking stocks HSBC Holdings plc (00005.HK) and Standard Chartered PLC (02888.HK) fell 1.4% and 1.2% respectively, following the decline of their counterparts in the offshore markets. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (00388.HK) and AIA Group Limited (01299.HK) fell 1.2% and 0.6% respectively. In the technology sector, Bilibili Inc. (09626.HK) and Xiaomi Corporation (01810.HK) rose 2.1% and 1.6% respectively, while Meituan (03690.HK), Tencent Holdings Limited (00700.HK), and Baidu, Inc. (09888.HK) rose 0.4%. Alibaba Group Holding Limited (09988.HK), NetEase, Inc. (09999.HK), Kuaishou Technology (01024.HK), and JD.com, Inc. (09618.HK) fell less than 1%.

In other stocks, Shanghai New World Co., Ltd. (00017.HK) and Longfor Group Holdings Limited (00916.HK) fell 4% and 3.8% respectively. Starlight Culture Entertainment Group Limited (06683.HK) plummeted 72.2% to HKD 2.59, with a turnover of over 0.3 billion yuan.
