総合エンターテインメント事業のライブ・エンターテインメント部門では、主力のSKE48、乃木坂46、Novelbrightが積極的に活動したほか、2023年12月末でSKE48を卒業した江籠裕奈がソロ活動を開始、et-アンド-や若月佑美、生駒里奈、小栗有以などがドラマや各種イベント、情報番組への出演、アニメや企業とのタイアップなど活動の場を増やすなど好調に推移した。一方デジタル・コンテンツ部門では、子会社化したばかりの10ANTZで、売上収益の増加には寄与したものの一部コンテンツのユーザー数が減少、開発費などの増加もあって売上総利益率が低下したため、想定外の営業損失を計上することとなった。加えて、bijouxの事業活動に伴う先行費用の計上やコロナ補助金の減少などにより、事業全体の営業利益は前年同期比で大幅な減益となった。■Performance trends of KeyHolder ＜4712＞
2. Performance trends by segment
By segment, the general entertainment business had sales revenue of 7,045 million yen (up 19.1% from the same period last year), segment profit of 809 million yen (down 52.1% from the same period), the video production business had sales revenue of 3,063 million yen (down 4.5% from the same period), segment profit of 75 million yen (down 43.9% from the same period), the advertising agency business had sales revenue of 3,985 million yen (down 20.5% from the same period), and segment profit of 66 million yen (down 49.7% from the same period). Also, in the real estate leasing business, which is another business, rental income was added due to the acquisition of investment real estate by Topos Enterprise prior to becoming a subsidiary, and sales revenue was 56 million yen (up 10.6% from the same period), and segment profit was 24 million yen (up 113.5% from the same period).
In the live entertainment division of the general entertainment business, the main forces SKE48, Nogizaka46, and Novelbright were active, and Ego Yuna, who graduated from SKE48 at the end of 2023/12, began solo activities, and there was a strong trend, such as appearing in dramas, various events, and information programs, and increasing the number of places of activity such as tie-ups with anime and companies. Meanwhile, in the digital content division, 10ANTZ has just become a subsidiary, and although it contributed to an increase in sales revenue, the number of users of some content decreased, and the gross profit margin declined due to an increase in development costs, etc., so unexpected operating losses were recorded. Additionally, operating profit for the entire business declined drastically compared to the same period last year due to the recording of upfront costs associated with Bijoux's business activities and a decrease in COVID-19 subsidies.
In the video production business, regular programming progressed due to variety, which is the main axis, and the business was actively developed, such as producing dramas and movies and receiving orders for New Year's special programs. In addition, we steadily built up achievements in the equipment rental business used by professional engineers and the digitizing business that digitizes analog images, streamlining the post-production business where video editing work is performed through integration, and the production staff dispatch business continued to be steadily promoted. However, although there were profit improvements due to an increase in regular programs, in addition to the fact that profit margins for staff dispatch were on a downward trend against the backdrop of a tough environment for video production companies, there were also advance costs for participating in dramas and large-scale overseas projects at TOKYO ROCK STUDIO established in the same period last year, and a period gap in overseas large-scale projects, and operating profit declined drastically compared to the same period last year. In the advertising agency division of the advertising agency business, in addition to implementing various initiatives throughout the year at 7-Eleven Japan's Seven Net Shopping, efforts with major clients were successful, and the acquisition of profitable projects progressed smoothly. However, in the digital advertising division, demand declined sharply against the backdrop of cost aspects including advertising methods in the men's hair removal industry, which is the main client, and sales and profit declined drastically.
