Japan's Seven & i has rightly deemed a takeover offer from Canada's Couche-Tard as too low, according to Suntory Holdings chief executive Takeshi Niinami. Niinami shared this assessment on Wednesday.
The bid for the operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores has raised concerns among Japanese chief executives about potential foreign acquisitions, Niinami noted during an interview with Reuters NEXT Newsmaker.
Niinami, aged 65, is a prominent figure in Japan's business world, holding the position of chair at the Keizai Doyukai business lobby and having previously served as an adviser to former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.
