SpaceX, the space exploration technology company owned by Musk, announced on Tuesday that the "Polaris Dawn", carrying the Falcon 9 rocket, was launched from Florida, USA on Tuesday. Four commercial astronauts will perform the first-ever commercial spacewalk.

The "Polaris Dawn" is SpaceX's 14th manned mission and its fifth private manned spaceflight. This is the first mission of three human spaceflight missions purchased by billionaire and Shift4 founder Jared Isaacman from SpaceX in 2022, and the plan is called the "Polaris Program".

Unlike previous missions to the International Space Station, this is a free-flying mission, and the crew hopes that the orbit of this flight will be far from the Earth, at an altitude of about 1400 kilometers above the Earth's surface, the farthest distance traveled by astronauts from Earth since the Apollo 17 moon landing mission in 1972.

Isaacman serves as the mission commander, leading a team of four people including two SpaceX employees, Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon, who are entering space for the first time, and pilot Scott Poteet.

The core part of the mission is that the crew members will attempt the first-ever spacewalk by SpaceX. Previously, spacewalks were routine operations in government space programs, but private companies have not attempted them. This extravehicular activity is expected to last for two hours. Isaacman and Gillis will not separate from the spacecraft and float freely in space. They will use a series of tracks installed at the hatch called "Skywalker" to completely leave the spacecraft while being tethered to it with a 12-foot long cord.

In addition to the spacewalk, the "Polaris Dawn" also plans to conduct approximately 40 scientific and research experiments during the mission.

Due to adverse weather conditions and helium leaks, the launch has been postponed multiple times in the past few weeks.

In the next few years, Isaacman hopes to carry out the second "Polaris Dawn" mission with the crewed Dragon spacecraft, possibly to enhance NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, but NASA has not yet approved it. The "Polaris Dawn" mission is planned to be launched three times, and Isaacman hopes that the third mission may be the first manned flight of the "Starship".

The success of SpaceX and Tesla has also greatly increased the net worth of founder Musk. According to a new report published by wealth tracking website Informa Connect, Musk may become the world's first trillionaire in 2027.

Informa Connect stated that Musk's current net worth is $195 billion, and assuming that Musk's wealth continues to grow linearly at an annual rate of 110%, this billionaire's wealth will reach $1 trillion in 2027.

The website stated that most of Musk's wealth comes from Tesla's dominant position in the electric vehicle field. The next driving force behind his wealth growth will be the space race, as well as his company SpaceX's dominant position in rocket launches and space internet. Earlier reports stated that SpaceX's valuation is about $210 billion. The website pointed out that SpaceX's Starlink may soon conduct its first initial public offering (IPO), unlocking even more wealth for this billionaire.

Boosted by the launch of the "Polaris Dawn" mission and the EU's possible reduction of proposed tariffs on imported electric cars from China, Tesla's stock price closed up more than 4% on Tuesday. According to reports, the EU will adjust the tariff rate on Tesla electric cars imported from China from the proposed 9% to slightly below 8%.
