As of September 9th, the average ex-factory price of domestic light soda ash was 1608 yuan/ton, a decrease of 10.6% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 48.8% year-on-year; the average terminal price of domestic heavy soda ash was 1689 yuan/ton, a decrease of 13.2% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 49.1% year-on-year. Recently, the Jinshan Mengzhou plant and Huojia plant have stopped operation, while the twin disc plants in Hubei, the Tianjin alkaline plant, and the Hai Tian plant in Shandong have not started running yet. The overall operating load of soda ash manufacturers is not high. However, the overall inventory level of soda ash manufacturers is relatively high, and downstream demand is weak. The enthusiasm for purchasing soda ash is not high, and manufacturers are sticking to essential purchases. The pressure on selling soda ash is still present, and the prices of new orders continue to decline, leading to losses for some manufacturers. There is currently no clear plan for additional maintenance in the future. The industry's operating load is expected to increase, but downstream demand may not improve. Under supply pressure, the soda ash market may continue to operate under pressure.
