Daikin Industries, Ltd. will introduce advanced air conditioning technology to the restaurant "SUIKUU" operated by Suntory Holdings, Ltd. at the 2025 Japan World Exposition (Osaka-Kansai Expo) to create a highland air environment in the store.

"SUIKUU" is a restaurant jointly created by Suntory, which will exhibit a water and air water spectacle show at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, and it will be located in the commercial building "Water Plaza West Wing" in the area "Water Plaza" open to the sea and sky.

The concept of the restaurant is "highland restaurant", where you can experience the feeling of dining in the highlands while being by the seaside. The air conditioning system, called "ceiling discharge type displacement ventilation", which has a high cleaning effect developed independently, and the control technology for temperature, humidity, and airflow, aim to provide a safe and refreshing highland-like air. Moreover, by combining Daikin's advanced air conditioning technology with Tokyo University's multimodal stimulation technology※1 that approaches the five senses through visual and auditory stimuli, as well as Osaka University's generative AI, it will create a more enjoyable dining space※2.

As a "company that finds answers with air", Daikin will make use of advanced technology at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, which is an experimental ground for future society, to provide visitors from all over the world with a safe and comfortable future dining space.

"Ceiling discharge type displacement ventilation" that creates a refreshing highland air

The "ceiling blow-out type replacement ventilation air conditioning" is a new air conditioning system that adjusts the air to a comfortable temperature and humidity and allows it to fall slowly from the ceiling to the floor, efficiently pushing up the air containing particulate matter such as viruses and gas components such as VOC※3 and exhausting it. It delivers a pleasant cooling sensation without the typical crosswind of air conditioners.

By combining two high-performance filters, a low-pressure loss medium-performance filter and a gas adsorption filter, in this air conditioning system, it exhibits a high purification effect equivalent to five times the ventilation volume※4 of a general office. In addition, it is managed to create an air environment that complies with ASHRAE 62.1※5 and EN standards※6 by using multiple IAQ sensors installed.

At the entrance of the store, a "IAQ monitor" that reflects real-time information such as temperature, humidity, and CO2 concentration measured by IAQ sensors is installed, so you can always check that the store is a comfortable environment.

"Dining with Traveling Air" is a private room that makes future air experiences possible by combining air conditioning control with visual and auditory stimuli. By combining Daikin's expertise in temperature, humidity, and airflow control technology with the cross-modal technology related to audio-visual at the University of Tokyo, it recreates a spot where one can feel pleasant air in the private room. The walls of the private room are filled with images of highlands and grasslands, and the air environment and environmental sounds that harmonize with the scenery allow for an experience as if dining in nature.

"Future Thermometer" jointly developed with Osaka University

"Future Thermometer" is a new technology jointly developed with Osaka University that visualizes the air environment. It expresses various information such as season, time, weather, indoor and outdoor temperature, and humidity using the latest generative AI to create paintings. This technology is realized through a two-step AI process that verbalizes various environmental information and generates art from that language.

The paintings created by the generating AI change according to the conditions such as temperature and CO2 concentration.
When entering the private room, the outdoor air environment is depicted, gradually transforming into a refreshing highland painting that reflects the indoor air environment. You can experience cutting-edge technology where invisible air information transforms into art using generating AI.
