On Tuesday, the social media accounts of some of Trump's family members were hacked, and a false statement about a crypto project was posted.

According to a statement from Eric, Trump's son, on X (formerly known as Twitter) platform, posts related to the World Liberty Financial project on Laura and Tiffany Trump's X accounts were a 'scam', leading to the accounts being locked by X 'within minutes'.

"World Liberty Financial" is a digital asset plan proposed by Republican presidential candidate Trump and his two sons, but all details have not been publicly announced.

A now-deleted post on Laura Trump's X page stated that the goal of "World Liberty Financial" is to "take power away from traditional banks", "give power back to the people", and added that the goal is to "ensure that the American people have complete control over their finances".

The message contains a seemingly false website link with Trump's photo on it. The webpage states that "World Liberty Financial" includes a governance crypto token called $WL on the Solana blockchain, which will be used to support micro-payments and an upcoming decentralized financial lending protocol. The page includes instructions on how to connect a digital wallet to purchase tokens.

The Trump campaign team did not immediately respond to requests for comments on the Tuesday incident. The "World Liberty Financial" X page warns against clicking links or purchasing any tokens in the personal profiles of Laura and Tiffany Trump.

Earlier this year, Laura became the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and is married to Eric. Tiffany is Trump's youngest daughter. Trump is showing support for the digital asset industry in pursuit of donations and votes, and has vowed to make the USA the 'crypto capital' of the world.

His son Eric and little Donald started promoting the DeFiant Ones Telegram channel for the World Freedom Financial project in August. DeFi is a project in the field of digital assets composed of a group of projects that use automated software on blockchain to provide various financial services. The latest dramatic events serve as a reminder that cryptos as a whole are still susceptible to fraud and hacking.
