Today, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'the Company') has obtained a notation (Note 1) from the Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK), indicating that its car carrier vessel 'TEXAS HIGHWAY,' currently in operation, has implemented additional fire safety measures for the maritime transport of electric vehicles.

The Company has been strengthening its efforts for the safe transportation of automobiles. As part of these efforts, the Company has deployed and implemented car carrier firefighting manuals that are also capable of dealing with electric vehicle fires on all of its operated vessels. The acquisition of this notation is a recognition of these endeavors to enhance safety in transportation.

In the future, the Company plans to gradually apply for and obtain the notation for other vessels it operates. The Company will continue to strengthen its fire safety measures and strive for even safer operations, aiming to be chosen as a preferred marine shipping company by its customers.

An additional designation given by a classification society to vessels, systems, etc. that meet certain requirements. In this case, the Company obtained the notation for 'Additional Fire-Fighting Measures for Vehicle Carrier (Fire Fighting)(Electric Vehicle).'
