Today's growth market, both Tokyo Growth Market Index and Tokyo Growth Market 250 Index experienced a slight decline. The number of rising stocks was 226, the number of falling stocks was 325, and unchanged was 36.
In the U.S. market on the 30th, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 41,563.08, up 228.03 points, while the Nasdaq ended trading at 17,713.63, up 197.20 points. The July core personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index was almost as expected, leading to gradual expectations of interest rate cuts and an increase. Despite a temporary market decline due to long-term interest rate increases, fueled by end-of-month buying and improvements in the August University of Michigan Consumer Confidence Index and August Chicago Purchasing Managers Index, expectations of a soft landing led to renewed buying and an expanded upside towards the end, as the Dow closed at a record high for consecutive days.
Although the Tokyo Growth Market Index started to rise, it quickly turned negative after the opening. However, it did not collapse and resisted declines, briefly pushing back into positive territory, but buying pressure did not continue, leading to another negative turn. Towards the end of the morning session, the market sentiment turned cautiously lower, and the afternoon session started with a slightly wider decline, but managed to cut the losses, reaching the day's low at 846.73 points and ended with a slight decrease.
