Mitsubishi Chemical Group (hereinafter “our group”) obtained ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification, International Sustainability Carbon Certification) PLUS certification, which is one of the international certification systems for sustainable products, in 2024/4, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation Performance Polymers (Japan) Division Production Management Group SCM Section (Aichi Prefecture) I would like to inform you that it was acquired at (Nagoya City).This certification ensures that recycled raw materials, biomass raw materials, etc. are managed appropriately in the supply chain, including product manufacturing. With the recent certification, it is now possible to handle performance polymers products (thermoplastic elastomers, functional polyolefin, etc.) using the mass balance method*.
By obtaining this certification and providing certified products, the Group will continue to contribute to the social implementation of sustainable products using recycled raw materials and biomass raw materials.
* The mass balance method is a distribution management system that allocates the ratio of specific raw materials (example: recycled raw materials) used to manufacture products by mixing multiple raw materials (example: petroleum-derived raw materials and recycled raw materials derived from waste plastics) to any product.
Mitsubishi Chemical undertakes and declares that it will comply with the requirements of ISCC PLUS certification in accordance with the latest regulations of ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification).
