The Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Organizing Committee (Tournament Director: Sakae Nishino, Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is operating the "Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament 2024" (Sponsor: Sports Nippon Newspaper Co., Ltd., abbreviated as Toray PPO Tennis 2024)
Nara Kurumi said, "I am very happy to be appointed as an ambassador for Toray PPO for the second consecutive year! I am looking forward to working as an ambassador with my best friend, Misaki Doi, and to make the tournament even more exciting!" We will also welcome Misaki Doi, who retired from active play at the 2023 tournament, as a new double ambassador to liven up the tournament. Misaki Doi commented, "The most memorable thing about my last tournament in Toray PPO last year. Born on December 30, 1991. From Hyogo Prefecture. Dominated domestic titles during her junior years and turned professional at the age of 17. Has made a total of 24 appearances in Grand Slam tournaments and reached the third round three times (2013 US Open, 2014 Australian Open, 2017 US Open).
Known as the shortest player on the tour, standing at 155cm. In 2014, she won her first title on the tour in Rio de Janeiro and achieved her personal best ranking of 32nd in the WTA rankings in the same year. Retired from professional tennis after the Toray PPO in September 2022.
