Great Eagle Group (00041.HK) stated that in order to promote sustainable development, it conducted strategic cross-industry cooperation with Qingzhou Yingping last year to launch a pilot project for oyster shell upgrading and regeneration. The project utilizes discarded oyster shells to produce sustainable alternative building materials such as cement. The results of the pilot project were announced in August this year, and about 9 tons of oyster shells have been successfully transformed into sustainable cement products. It has also received support from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's recycling fund and is expected to expand in the future.
Great Eagle Group also mentioned that it hopes more hotels and restaurants will actively participate in order to reduce the burden of oyster shell disposal on landfills. At the same time, the group will continue to promote kitchen waste recycling and innovative regeneration to promote resource circulation and reduce solid waste.
