According to the Zhongtong Finance APP, CWT INT'L (00521) announced its six-month performance as of June 30, 2024, with revenue of 20.276 billion Hong Kong dollars, a 27.0% year-on-year increase; the attributable profit to owners of the company was 0.121 billion Hong Kong dollars, a 10.5% year-on-year decrease; and the basic earnings per share was 1.06 Hong Kong cents.

During the period, the decrease in net profit from continuing operations was mainly due to: increased interest costs, partly due to logistics interruptions in the commodity trading division leading to an extended metal delivery period; and the highly volatile and supply-restricted soft commodities such as cocoa beans and coffee beans in the commodity logistics department of the logistics services division. However, the net profit of the warehousing and comprehensive logistics department improved significantly compared to the first half of 2023, helping offset some of the negative impact.
