He stated on his social media platform, Truth Social, that he has reached an agreement with Harris's campaign team. Previously, due to Harris's proposal to have a debate with an "open microphone" format, Trump expressed the possibility of not participating in this debate, and the "Hart-First Debate" itself has gone through ups and downs.
In the above post, Trump stated that the rules of this debate will be the same as the rules of the previous debate hosted by CNN. The microphones of the two candidates will be muted throughout the debate, unless it is their turn to speak. There will be no in-studio audience for this debate.
"The debate will be conducted 'standing up,' and the candidates are not allowed to bring notes or 'cheat sheets.' ABC has also assured us that this will be a 'fair and just' debate, and neither side will receive the questions in advance," he wrote.
Previously, he publicly criticized ABC as the "dirtiest and most unfair news broadcasting company so far."
However, Harris's side denied Trump's latest statement.
According to Harris's campaign team, the terms of the debate have not been finalized. Discussions with the host TV station ABC about whether to adopt the 'open microphone' format are still ongoing.

On the other hand, Trump reiterated that he wants to have two additional debates with Harris: one on September 4 hosted by Fox News, and the other on September 25 hosted by NBC News.
