According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, China Star Entertainment Group (00326) announced that the group expects to incur a comprehensive loss of HK$0.115 billion to HK$0.135 billion for the six months ending on June 30, 2024, compared to HK$82.446 million for the same period ending on June 30, 2023.

The announcement stated that the increase in losses is mainly due to a significant increase in market promotion, sales, and issuance expenses generated by property sales and multimedia and entertainment operations, with market promotion, sales, and issuance expenses increasing to approximately HK$49 million (for the six months ending on June 30, 2023: HK$12.36 million); and administrative expenses of about HK$64 million (for the six months ending on June 30, 2023: HK$50.304 million), mainly including employee welfare expenses increasing from HK$25.736 million in the same period last year to around HK$44 million.
