According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Ka Shui Int'l (00822) released its interim results for the six months ending June 30, 2024, with revenue of 0.614 billion Hong Kong dollars, a 15.5% increase year-on-year; the attributable loss to equity holders of the company expanded by 50.097 million Hong Kong dollars, a 130.8% increase year-on-year; loss per share of 5.61 Hong Kong cents.

It is reported that the revenue growth is mainly due to the excellent sales performance of plastics and magnesium alloy businesses. However, the group's overall gross margin decreased due to the strategy of low profit and high sales volume and changes in product mix. At the same time, the increase in production costs compared to the same period last year (mainly due to initial production in Mexico with higher costs) also contributed. As a result, the group's gross margin fell by approximately 17.9% to 84.721 million Hong Kong dollars.
