Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Co., Ltd. and K-Line Wind Services Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Kawasaki Kisen Co., Ltd. and Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "KWS"), and Acteon Group Operations Limited, an international marine infrastructure services company, have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore wide-ranging cooperation in demonstration and commercial projects for floating offshore wind power generation in Japan. The two companies will combine their respective technologies and services to support the development of floating offshore wind power projects in Japan.

KWS has participated in the NEDO GI Fund Phase 1 from 2021 to 2023, conducting research on mooring construction methods using vessels in large-scale floating wind power plants, and continues to work towards demonstration projects and commercialization. Based on this collaboration with Acteon, we aim to establish a system that provides safer and more efficient mooring construction services using vessels.

Acteon, primarily through its subsidiary InterMoor, handles mooring engineering for floating facilities from design to installation and decommissioning, and aims to provide comprehensive mooring engineering support for demonstration projects and commercial projects of floating offshore wind power in Japan, together with KWS.

Comment from KWS Representative Director and President Terunori Kuramoto
"Acteon has excellent track records in mooring construction and floating offshore wind power in Europe and beyond. By combining the knowledge and experience of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha group, which has accumulated knowledge and experience of offshore support vessels, with Acteon, we aim to contribute to the development of floating wind energy in Japan."

Comment from Acteon CCO Barry Persons
