Bursa had issued UMA inquiry on Genetec after the share price of the company dropped sharply, in response Genetec said they are not aware of any specific reason to account for the unusual price fall in the securities. The company's share dropped from 1.56 on 23 August to close at 1.19 on Friday.

In a Bursa filing, the company said as at the date of the announcement, there is no corporate development in relation to the Group's business and affairs that have not been previously announced, which may account for the trading activity, including those in the stage of negotiation/ discussion.

It added that the board is also not aware of any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the Group that may account for the trading activity or any other possible explanation to account for the trading activity.
