One Health Catalyst Insider Raised Their Stake In The Previous Year

Simply Wall St ·  Aug 22 21:35

Looking at Health Catalyst, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:HCAT ) insider transactions over the last year, we can see that insiders were net buyers. That is, there were more number of shares purchased by insiders than there were sold.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Health Catalyst

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when CEO & Director Daniel Burton bought US$205k worth of shares at a price of US$7.81 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being US$7.15). While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when an insider has purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. Daniel Burton was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.
